Troubleshooting software startup to pilot project with Konecranes

Mavenoid’s solution topped those of the finalists that participated in Konecranes’ pitching event for startups.

All six startup companies that made it to the final round of the Konecranes Reach Program have commercialized their technologies. These include an Industrial Internet platform that can connect any OEM equipment, machine learning diagnostic technology that uses sound to detect broken machines, and sub-millimeter industrial grade radars, among others.

The finalists presented their innovative concepts to a jury which included decision makers from Konecranes’ Ports, Service and Industrial Equipment businesses at the pitching event. The pitching event was held at the Maria 01 startup hub in Helsinki, Finland, on April 19, 2018.

“The winner presented a solution that was tangible – something that Konecranes can pursue together with them and that can be realized within the near future,” explains Juha Pankakoski, Executive Vice President of Technologies at Konecranes.

R&D collaborations in the making

Mavenoid, a Stockholm-based company specializing in amplified intelligence for troubleshooting, presented the winning solution, and is now set to begin a pilot project with Konecranes.

"We’re thrilled to be working with Konecranes, which is known for great service. The purpose of this partnership is to dramatically reduce crane downtime with our simple, AI-guided troubleshooting tool. In the next two weeks, we’ll start building a complete solution for troubleshooting one type of crane," says Shahan Lilja, Co-founder and CEO of Mavenoid.

Konecranes will also test an acoustics-based predictive maintenance solution with Noiseless Acoustics in fall 2018. In addition, the company will continue discussions with Smart Plants to learn how third parties are developing smart solutions for factories.

Konecranes’ work with startups aims to create value for customers by solving real world problems using cutting-edge technologies. At the same time, the company seeks to help startup companies bring their offerings to market. Find out more at startup.konecranes.com
