Customer story

Highly flexible and robust mobile harbor cranes and reach stackers make a perfect team

Dutch Terminal Operator Combined Cargo Terminals (CCT) started its operations in 2005. CCT has since relied on Konecranes for container handling. It currently operates five mobile harbor cranes and twelve reach stackers.

CCT is located in Moerdijk, halfway between Rotterdam and Antwerp, some 50 km from the North Sea. The terminal is a full-service seaport as well as a hub for trimodal transport throughout the whole of Europe.

The versatile Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Cranes thus load and unload both short sea vessels and river barges. The eco-efficient diesel-electric cranes work hand in hand with Konecranes Reach Stackers to ensure fast and secure transport and stacking of laden and empty containers in the various areas of the terminal.

Combined Cargo Terminals has opted for mobile harbor cranes from Konecranes, as the particular flexibility of these machines meets the requirements in Moerdijk perfectly. In the U-shaped terminal, vessels and barges are handled on two sides of the basin. The cranes can be moved easily and positioned quickly in any area of the terminal, which contributes to the high productivity of operations.

A HOLISTIC, SUCCESSIVELY EXPANDABLE CONCEPT

With mobile harbor cranes and reach stackers from Konecranes, CCT has chosen a holistic concept, combining state-of-the-art technology with comprehensive service throughout the life cycle. Konecranes has provided continuous support since 2005, ranging from planning, with regard to the set-up and successive expansion of the fleet, to a tailor-made maintenance and spare parts package.
