KCI Konecranes has been awarded a contract for 19 units to Black Sea Port giant Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (NCSP). KCI Konecranes will provide various Forklift trucks from 10 tons capacity up to 32 tons capacity and Reach Stackers for container handling with 45 tonnes capacity.
“This order means a great deal to our future prospects for lifttrucks in Russia,” comments Patrik Lundbäck, Sales Director, Konecranes Lifttrucks. “The contract was won in the face of the toughest possible competition. NCSP is a highly professional and demanding customer and the leading port in Russia and the Black Sea area in general. This success obviously sends a clear signal to the market.” With this order the largest number of SMV Konecranes’ lifttrucks in Russia is in the Novorossiysk area.
All units will be powered by Volvo engines and equipped with SMV Konecranes’ fuel saving hydraulic load sensing system with variable piston pumps and box type chassis.
BT St Petersburg, SMV Konecranes distributor in Russia since 2001 secured the order with their well-developed Russian nation-wide service network that ensures customers receive first class after-sales support. “I am extremely happy to see our distributor in Russia: BT St. Petersburg perform and contribute to our growth in Russia”, said K-G Salomonsson, President, Konecranes Lifttrucks.
Since SMV Konecranes established its co-operation with BT St. Petersburg in 2001, an increasing number of SMV Konecranes machines have appeared in various types of operations such as seaports, saw mills, steel plants and other industrial sites in Russia. “We think and hope that we will exceed a three digit number of Konecranes’ lifttrucks in Russia in the near future” said Lundbäck.
