Konecranes has won an order to deliver seven CXT medium-heavy lifting indoor cranes and one 50-ton outdoor Gantry crane to the Hanhikivi 1 nuclear construction site of Finnish energy company Fennovoima. The order with Hanhikivi’s main contractor, Titan-2, was booked in Q3 2019 and the cranes will be delivered before the end of 2020.

With this order, the crane’s manufacturing in Finland guarantees fast and flexible deliveries to Hanhikivi 1. The first CXT crane is already ready to be delivered is expected to be up and running during the summer.

Titan-2 is the main contractor for the Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power plant, which will be built by Rosatom as a turnkey delivery for Fennovoima in Pyhäjoki, Finland. Titan-2 has substantial experience in constructing nuclear power plants and is one of the largest and fastest-growing companies in Russia. It includes five main companies that build nuclear and thermal power, plus oil, gas and chemical facilities, among other projects. The company’s structure, facilities and personnel qualification enable the full construction cycle from basic design execution to turnkey commissioning. Titan-2 is the main contractor for building Leningradskaya-2 nuclear power plant in Sosnovyi Bor, the reference plant for Hanhikivi-1 NPP.
