At the beginning of February 2013, two Konecranes ship-to-shore (STS) cranes ordered by Cornelder de Moçambique (CdM) were loaded onto ships, fully-erected, and departed the manufacturing site. Konecranes received the original order in December 2011. Both cranes were successfully unloaded from the vessel at the Port of Beira in Mozambique, in very tight time window, despite huge monthly tide variations.
The STS cranes are now operating in the Port of Beira’s container terminal, one of the most modern terminals in southern Africa. They have an outreach of 40 m, a lifting capacity of 65 tons under spreader, and they are designed for twin lift operation.
The cranes are also equipped with remote access technology that enables remote diagnostics and provides access to the expertise and maintenance services that are available in the Konecranes TRUCONNECT® offering. Each crane is also connected wirelessly to the maintenance office to allow monitoring and accurate, fast trouble-shooting.
