Parma Ltd. and Konecranes have signed a three-year lifting equipment service agreement. The aim of the agreement is to optimize operational reliability and improve occupational safety in Parma’s factories.
Some 160 different cranes perform thousands of lifting movements at Parma’s 10 factories daily. In order to have an uninterrupted production and accurate deliveries, appropriate functioning of all equipment is of utmost importance.
"The cooperation agreement was signed to improve the predictability in lifting equipment maintenance. Konecranes was chosen as our partner based on their experience and know-how. The service provided by Konecranes enables the maintenance operations based on data collected via remote connection to be implemented according to a transparent maintenance plan," says Jari Rousu, Maintenance Manager at Parma.
"Often maintenance operations are only carried out after the equipment fails. In such cases special measures are often required, and disruptions cause delays. Konecranes aims to implement any required repair and improvement tasks timely and in the order of importance and urgency. Ultimately, preventive maintenance brings value to our customers in terms of improved delivery reliability," Rousu explains.
Safety as a top priority
Konecranes’ extensive service network will support a smooth execution of the service agreement. Solid expertise and a network of professionals are available close to Parma's production plants.
"Our service operations employ approximately 400 technicians, who attend to the operation of the cranes and lifting equipment in Finland. The choice of one supplier is an easy solution for the customer. We offer smooth operations and improved safety and productivity in our customers’ business with the help of our comprehensive Lifecycle Care approach to maintenance," says Erkki Ruotsalainen, Sales Director at Konecranes.
“Safety is the top priority for both us and Parma. In this respect, the companies' operating principles are well in line. No job is so important and no project so urgent that we cannot take the time to perform our work safely and in a proper manner," says Mika Viro, Konecranes’ Director, Crane Service Finland & Baltics.
