Efficiency and safety go hand in hand
Safe customer operations and continuous product development innovation are at the core of Konecranes’ business. In addition to providing the safest products on the market, we provide Smart Features that further enhance safety and improve efficiency. When materials flow without disruption, working environments are safer and this supports our goal for everyone to make it home safe, every day.
Efficiency and safety are strongly interlinked. In our quest to offer the most efficient and safe material flow, we constantly listen to our customers and keep an eye on the opportunities new technologies bring for product development. We utilise these insights in further development of our products and their features.
Championing customer safety
For years, Mark Ubl, Senior Vice President Industrial Cranes and Products in the Americas has been a champion in creating safe material flows for our customers. "Everything we sell is safe and efficient", Mark emphasises, "but on top of that, our advanced Smart Features significantly improve the safety and reliability of our customers operations.“
When making a sales case, listening to our customer's needs and finding the right fit from our offering is crucial. "As a starting point we offer and promote safety features that fit our customers' material flow needs", says Mark. "We make it easy for our customers to make lifts safe".
Safety journey continues
Many of our existing Smart Features have spun out of real customer needs and been developed in collaboration with them. That work continues today in our customer engagement. We constantly listen to our customers and keep an eye on the opportunities new technologies bring for product development. Hook centering
is designed to eliminate side pull during lifting by positioning the bridge and trolley automatically directly over the load. This feature means less wear and tear on your crane’s components, faster load cycle times and ease of operation.
Snag prevention
is designed to stop all crane movement if the hook, sling or load accidentally gets caught on something. This safety function reduces the risk of hazardous situations while moving loads and helps to prevent damage to the load, crane and surrounding area.
Follow me
makes lifting operations much faster because crane can be moved above the load by simply guiding the hook by hand. This feature reduces load cycle times by making it much easier and faster to load and unload the crane.
