Crane incident study

In 2011, experts from the Konecranes Training Institute analyzed 249 OSHA reported crane incidents that occurred over the period of a decade in the U.S. In 2021 we took a look at the data for the next decade and analyzed the 70 incidents that had occurred. While the number of incidents has gone down, the types of injuries and their causes has remained relatively the same.

The data shown here is for the combined 319 incidents that occurred from 2000-2020.
