The emission legislation being applied in Europe and North America has been a major challenge for all engine manufacturers, but as of 2014 certain engine manufacturers now offer EU stage 4 engines that meet this legislation. Konecranes now offers a wide range of EU stage 4 / EPA 4f engines that meet the latest emission legislation, with focus on operational economy, increased uptime, reduced emissions and outstanding performance.
SCR and EGR systems
Konecranes is especially satisfied with the efficient SCR (selective catalytic reduction) and EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) systems that our engine manufacturers have developed in order to meet the EU Stage 4 / EPA Tier 4f emission levels. The maintenance-free after treatment systems reduces NOx and soot particle levels while offering increased performance and productivity, together with reduced noise levels on the entire product range.
