In January 2010 Konecranes expanded its machine tool service (MTS) business to Denmark by acquiring the assets of the company AH Maskinservice A/S. Konecranes also acquired the Scottish company Axis Machine Tool Engineers Limited, headquartered in East Kilbride. AH Maskinservice A/S has 7 employees and Axis Machine Tool Engineers Limited 12 employees. The combined annual net sales of the companies were in 2009 approximately EUR 4 million. The value of the acquisitions is not disclosed.
AH Maskinservice A/S is located in Horsens, east Jutland and is specialized in safety inspections and CE labeling, hydraulic presses and overall machine tool service. The acquisition of AH Maskinservice is part of Konecranes’ strategy to expand its MTS business in the Nordic countries. AH Maskinservice’s previous owner will work as branch manager for Konecranes’ MTS business in Denmark.
Axis Machine Tool Engineers Limited is specialized in maintenance services of machine tools in Scotland and Northern Ireland. In addition, Axis sells machine tools and auxiliary equipment for machine tools. Through Axis Machine Tool Engineers Limited, Konecranes is able to offer a wide range of maintenance solutions for customers in the Scottish engineering industry, especially to oil industry service workshops.

The acquired companies will be consolidated in Konecranes’ financial statements as of January, 2010.
Konecranes now has MTS offices in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Ukraine, the UK and the US.
