Corporate press releases

The statutory negotiations have now ended at Konecranes Standard Lifting Corporation in Finland. Konecranes Standard Lifting Corporation will make a permanent reduction of 39 persons. This means that 35 persons will be laid off during this autumn. The rest of the reductions will be made by e.g. pension schemes. The on-going temporary layoffs are continuing according to plan, but these may be extended according to work load in different departments until May 31, 2010.

Konecranes Standard Lifting Corporation started statutory negotiations on March 18, 2009. The aim was to adjust the company’s cost structure and capacity to the current, weaker market situation and to secure future competitiveness. The statutory negotiations within Konecranes Standard Lifting Corporation targeted the whole personnel.

Konecranes has already adjusted its capacity through various arrangements, for example by reducing the use of hired personnel and temporary employment. In addition, the company has shifted subcontracting back to in-house production.

Konecranes Standard Lifting Corporation employs about 450 persons in Finland.
