Statutory negotiations completed at Konecranes Service Corporation in Finland

The statutory negotiations have now ended at Konecranes Service Corporation in Finland. Konecranes Service Corporation will make a permanent reduction of 10 persons. Details on the reductions will be decided within the next two weeks. During the negotiations the parties also agreed on temporary layoffs, and the extent of these will depend on the company’s work load.

Konecranes Standard Lifting Corporation and Konecranes Service Corporation started statutory negotiations on March 18, 2009 and Konecranes Heavy Lifting Corporation on May 18, 2009. The aim was to adjust the companies’ cost structure and capacity to the current, weaker market situation and to secure future competitiveness. The statutory negotiations within Konecranes Standard Lifting Corporation and Konecranes Heavy Lifting Corporation continue.

Konecranes has already adjusted its capacity through various arrangements, for example by reducing the use of hired personnel and temporary employment. In addition, the company has shifted subcontracting back to in-house production.

Konecranes Service Corporation employs about 590 persons, Konecranes Standard Lifting Corporation about 460 persons and Konecranes Heavy Lifting Corporation about 620 persons in Finland.
