Konecranes to outsource Data Center services to Hewlett Packard

Konecranes and Hewlett Packard (HP) have signed a seven-year agreement under which HP will operate Konecranes’ Data Center services. Konecranes’ Data Center services includes hosting of all application servers, back-up equipment and databases. According to the agreement, a total of 7 employees will transfer from Konecranes to the HP organization during 2010.

“In an international company like Konecranes, present in 43 countries, Data Center services need to be available everywhere 24/7,” says Antti Koskelin, CIO at Konecranes. “Through this agreement we will be able to offer a standardized solution for IT data services. This new arrangement will also give us the opportunity to operate world-class business applications.”

The project will start in early 2010 and implementation will be ready by 2012.
