Konecranes Heavy Lifting Corporation completed the statutory negotiations for personnel reductions in Finland

Konecranes Heavy Lifting Corporation has now completed the statutory negotiations for personnel reductions. Konecranes Heavy Lifting Corporation will make a permanent reduction of 41 persons. The reduction will be implemented by the end of the current vacation period. The negotiation parties are also to agree on temporary layoffs, which are still being negotiated. In addition, 25 persons will retire in the near future.

Konecranes Standard Lifting Corporation and Konecranes Service Corporation started statutory negotiations on March 18, 2009 and Konecranes Heavy Lifting Corporation on May 18, 2009. The aim was to adjust the companies’ cost structure and capacity to the current, weaker market situation and to secure future competitiveness. The decisions now made at Konecranes Heavy Lifting Corporation involve all of the company's personnel departments. The statutory negotiations within Konecranes Standard Lifting Corporation continue. Konecranes Service Corporation completed its negotiations on June 5, 2009.

Konecranes has already adjusted its capacity through various arrangements, for example by reducing the use of staffing agencies and temporary employment. In addition, the company has shifted subcontracting back to in-house production.

Konecranes Heavy Lifting Corporation employs approximately 620 persons, Konecranes Service Corporation approximately 590 persons and Konecranes Standard Lifting Corporation approximately 460 persons in Finland.
