Adeyinka Abass, Structural Analysis Specialist

“I enjoy working in Konecranes for many reasons. I feel trusted in the task and the responsibilities been given to me. I feel I've received enough support from my managers and from my colleagues in all matters. And finally, I feel there is a chance to always learn something new.”

I work as a Specialist in Structural Analysis in the Concept Creation team. Concept Creation team belongs to Konecranes’ Research & Innovation organization. We are responsible for coming up with new concepts that will outshine the next generations of lifting devices.

My main responsibility in Konecranes is to perform strength analysis for crane component design. Sometimes hand calculation is sufficient but most times we have to use finite elements software to do the calculations. The aim of the analysis is always to make sure that the component is safe for its intended use and also to make sure that all requirements in necessary standards are satisfied. My other responsibility is to manage small research projects. In my project management task, the most important skill is the ability to get along with people of different personalities and viewpoints. In summary, either as a strength analyst or as a project manager, things do not always go as planned. So it is important to have what Finns call "sisu".

I enjoy working in Konecranes for many reasons. But the three main reasons are:

  • One: I feel trusted in the task and the responsibilities been given to me.
  • Two: I feel I've received enough support from my managers and from my colleagues in all matters.
  • And finally, I feel there is a chance to always learn something new either from my colleagues or from trainings and conferences.
