KCI Konecranes comments on Russian deal in the making

KCI Konecranes comments on a news release by OAO Magnitogorsk Metallurgicheski Combinat (MMC) communications department on September 3, 2004 regarding a large crane deal in the making.

In essence the content of MMC’s news release was the following: Viktor Rashnikov, President of OAO Magnitogorsk Metallurgicheski Combinat (MMC) has signed an agreement on the delivery of multiple cranes. The project is part of a larger program to modernize MMC’s plant. The scope of the order consists of ten heavy duty ladle cranes, seven EOT cranes and nine industrial cranes. MMC’s communications department announced the order value to amount to USD 34 million. The crane deliveries are due to start in August 2005 until June 2006.

”We can confirm that such an agreement has been signed. However, this agreement does not yet meet all the criterias for us to book it as a confirmed order. The details of the final agreement are still being finalised. We shall publish a separate press release when the deal has been confirmed on all accounts,” said Mr Stig Gustavson, President & CEO, KCI Konecranes Plc.
